Learn to repair your clothes in a way that’s unique and sustainable.
Visible mending is the art of repairing clothing with decorative stitches and creative techniques that highlight, rather than hide, the wear and tear. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to turn holes, rips, and worn spots into unique design features that tell a story.
What you’ll Learn:
Learn about essential tools, thread and needle types, and fabric choices
Watch demos of three core techniques: sashiko stitching, reverse patching, and appliqué
Practice each method on your own sampler to take home
Gain the skills and confidence to make repairs on your own clothing
Workshop Includes:
2 hour interactive session
Live demos of darning methods
A practice sampler to work on and take home
All materials provided (optional: bring your own knit item to discuss and practice on)
This class has a maximum of 6 attendees, with one instructor. Please let us know if you have any specific learning requirements
All materials are provided. No sewing experience needed.
Whether you're new to stitching or looking to build your mending skills, you’ll leave with practical techniques and creative inspiration to start mending at home.
Repair with purpose. Mend with style. Join us!
*All proceeds from this workshop will be going to St David’s Hospice Donation Centre.
This workshop will be held at the Holyhead fixing hub. Find here
